- Download, install and launch the latest version of ControlSpace Designer software available from www.boseprofessional.com.
- Verify using the System drop down menu at the top of ControlSpace Designer that Dante Control and Endpoint Control are both enabled.
- Using Hardware Manager (also found in the System drop down menu at the top of ControlSpace Designer) choose the computer's Network Interface Card Name from the drop down menu and verify that the Host Network Interface IP Address and Subnet Mask are in the same IP range as the Current Project Settings for both the Network Address and Subnet Mask. Both of these must also match the IP range of the connected MSA loudspeaker which will then appear in the list.
- Power cycle the MSA-12X array and wait for it to come back online in CSD as indicated by the blue letters "connected".
- When the array comes back online, if it initially produces a pair of 1kHz warning tones, the Beam Preset loaded mismatches the module configuration and will need to be cleared. Double click the MSA-12X icon to open the block window and select the "Advanced" button in the bottom right corner:
- From the next window, select the "Reset to Defaults" button. Also from this menu, verify that the Module Count reflects your hardware. If you have 2 or 3 modules interconnected correctly (RJ50 connector cables firmly seated), you will also see the Firmware Version, DSP Version and Boot Version repeated 2 or 3 times respectively. If there is an issue with the array, you will also likely see diagnostic information in the "Message" window on this screen as well as more detail in the "Message" window of the Advanced screen.
- Return to the Hardware Manager window, select the "Firmware Update" tab and if flagged, update the Bose portion of the onboard firmware. This process, once completed requires a manual power cycle of the MSA-12X array. It also addresses "only" the Bose firmware and not the Dante firmware.
- Using Audinate's Dante Controller, select "Dante Updater" from the View drop down menu and follow the prescribed process for updating the Dante portion of the firmware. When the routine completes, even though there is an option to reboot from the Dante Controller software, manually power cycle the array.
- Return to ControlSpace Designer and verify that the Module Count and Firmware Version, DSP Version and Boot Version all match and reflect the update.
If intermittent audio continues or the array Health indicator is yellow or red, please contact Bose Product and Technical Support.
