Procedure
Building a project file
The first step in creating a ControlSpace system design file is to specify the hardware components intend for use in the project. In ControlSpace Designer software this is accomplished by launching the program and adding new devices from the Device List into the Project View. The Project View is a workspace that allows the graphical layout of the system design. The Device List holds the following hardware devices that can be part of the complete system: Sound Processors, PowerMatch Amplifiers, PowerShare Amplifiers, Dante Endpoints, Control Centers, Devices and Discontinued products. The Devices category represents virtual system components to complete the Project View with sound sources, generic amplifiers, network switches, loudspeakers, etc. These Devices have only a graphical function. Once the devices have been added in the Project View, the virtual wiring between the devices can be added to create a virtual representation of the complete sound system. With the exception of the CC-16, the wiring displayed between devices only provides the visual representation of the total system, but this is not critical for the proper functioning of the system. The connections between the CC-16 and DSP processor(s) are required for the physical devices to operate together.
Example
In the following example, an ESP-880AD sound processor and CC-64 and CC-16 zone controllers are part of the design. Although you can add other Devices, such as microphones and loudspeakers, they are for reference only and do not perform any function in ControlSpace Designer software.
Dragging and dropping devices into Project view.Project Files
Each system design is stored in a file with a .csp file extension. This file contains configuration information, settings, and control functions for all ControlSpace sound processors, PowerMatch and PowerShare amplifiers. In addition to creating new files, there are several methods to retrieve files and settings stored within the hardware devices. Refer to related articles for additional information.
