This article describes how to update the ControlSpace CC-64 firmware using the manual updater utility software called CC64Programmer.exe or CC64UpdateUtility.exe.

Procedure

Very occasionally, the Firmware Updater from the Hardware Manager in ControlSpace Designer will have difficulty updating a ControlSpace CC-64. This will result in an "update failed" message in ControlSpace Designer.

When this occurs update with the following steps:

1. Navigate to the ControlSpace bin folder; C:\Program Files (x86)\Bose\ControlSpace [version]\bin folder. 
   1. Each version of CSD contains a new firmware version.  So be sure to use the correct CSD /bin folder
2. Run the CC64UpdateUtility.exe program
   1.  Prior to ControlSpace Designer Version 4.3 this was call CC64Programmer.exe. 
3. Select the appropriate CC-64 from the list and select Program
4. The Utility will auto-populate the firmware contained in the /bin folder.

If the update fails again, bypass the network switch and plug the CC-64 directly into the PC's LAN port using a crossover network cable.
