Using the Videobar Configuration application

Videobar Configuration is available as a standalone app or as a browser-based WebUI.

Start by accessing the configuration options:

  • To access Videobar Configuration via a browser, enter in the Videobar's IP address into the browser's address bar.  See Accessing Videobar Configuration (VBC) WebUI in a Browser for full details.
    The default password is Bose123!

  • When using the standalone application, connect the Videobar to your computer with a USB cable, launch the application, and go to Administration.

    The default password is Bose123!

Installing Firmware using Videobar Configuration

  1. Go to Configuration > Firmware.
  2. Install the firmware:
    • Standalone application only: If new firmware is available, the Install button is enabled.  Clicking Install will start the installation process, which can take several minutes.

    • Standalone and WebUI: Under the section Upload and install another version, drag-and-drop or browse for the firmware version that you would like to install. This method allows downgrading to a previous version. Firmware can be downloaded from www.boseprofessional.com.
    • Note:
Videobar VB1 firmware files have the extension .swu
Videobar VB-S firmware files have the extension .zip

  3. The Videobar will automatically restart when the installation finishes. When the device reboots, the firmware update is complete.

Using Videobar Management

Videobar Management allows administrators to configure Videobars remotely and allows firmware updates to be scheduled for a future time to minimize business disruption.

  1. Open Videobar Management. Videobars on the network will be detected automatically.
  2. Select the Videobar(s) to be updated.  Click Update FW.

  3. A new window will appear with firmware update options.

If new firmware is available, the Install vX.X.X button will be enabled (the version number will be replaced with the actual latest firmware version).
Alternatively, a firmware file can be selected under Upload and install another version.  This allows downgrading to a previous firmware version. Firmware files are available on www.boseprofessional.com.

    Note:
Videobar VB1 firmware files have the extension .swu
Videobar VB-S firmware files have the extension .zip

You can choose when the firmware installation occurs by changing the date or time. The button text will change to Schedule Install to indicate that the firmware update will occur at the selected time.
  4. The Videobar will automatically restart when the installation finishes. When the device reboots, the firmware update is complete.
