This article is to provide an expectation on certain outdoor-rated loudspeakers used in below-freezing temperatures, and how it affects their sound.

It is found that with loudspeakers which use ferrofluid in their driver design, sub-freezing temperatures (below 32°F / 0°C or lower) can effect the overall responsiveness to high-frequencies. 

In our own testing, this does no damage to the speaker or amplifier involved, and is a temporary subtle drop in certain high frequencies when subjected to these low temperatures for extended periods of time.
