Unable to Run IOCardPgm

Relevant Product(s)

  • ControlSpace ESP-88
  • ControlSpace ESP-00
  • ControlSpace ESP-00 II

Resolution

The ControlSpace ESP-88/00/00 II are not DHCP capable devices. Therefore, verify that the static IP address of the ESP-88/00/00 II and the host computer are set to the same subnet with an identical subnet mask.

It is possible to verify that the devices are properly aligned by using the Hardware Manager in the desired version of ControlSpace Designer.   From the System drop down header at the top of the program, select Hardware Manager.

Inside the Hardware Manager pop-up window, click on the wing arrow to change the Host Network Interface Card Name from Automatic Selection to the connected NIC card of your computer.

Once selected, the IP Address and the Subnet Mask populate in their respective windows, allowing you to verify that your computer is a match to the Current Project Settings in the upper left hand corner.   If these addresses are in alignment with the Network Address and Subnet Mask of the ESP, it will appear in the Device List automatically or immediately after clicking on Discover Devices

When all 3 IP addresses (Project Address, Host Network Interface Address and the ESP Address) are in the same IP subnet range with the same subnet mask, the IOCardPgm should run as expected.

On occasion, it may be necessary to launch the IOCardPgm.exe by right clicking on the program or on a shortcut to the program and selecting Run as administrator.
