On the outside of the right ear cup, where the Bose logo is, the 700 UC headset has a touch surface area that provides controls for phone calls.

Below the power button on the right ear cup, you can find the Teams button.

Call controls using the touch surface on the right ear cup

  • To answer an incoming call, double tap.
  • To end a call, double tap.
  • To adjust the call volume, swipe up or down.
  • To mute or unmute the microphone, press and hold for about a second. You will hear a chime to indicate when the microphone has muted/unmuted. The USB Link's LED will be red when the microphone is muted.

Using the Teams button and interacting with Notifications

The USB Link's LED will be purple when Teams is running on the computer. This indicates that the headset is able to interact with Teams directly.

  • Press the Teams button to bring the Teams application to the forefront.
  • When a message notification appears, pressing the Teams button will show the chat.
  • When a meeting start notification appears, pressing the Teams button will show the Meeting now window where you can check your device settings prior to entering the meeting.

Configuring the audio settings

In most cases, the Headphones 700 UC will be recognized by your PC as the default audio device and no additional setup will be required. If you have multiple headsets connected to your computer though, you may need to select the 700 UC as the device to use within Teams.

From the Settings menu

When the 700 UC is connected to the computer, it will be available as an option in the Settings > Devices menu.

1. Within Teams, click the horizontal ellipsis icon in the top bar and select Settings.

2. Select Devices from the left side menu.  The menu on the right identifies which connected device is assigned to Speaker and Microphone.  Set these to the Bose USB Link device.

Verify the headset mic and speaker levels by selecting the "Make a Test Call" link and follow the Team's generated voice prompt.

When joining a meeting

When joining a meeting, you will have the opportunity to verify which device will be used for the call.

1. Make sure Computer audio is selected.

2. If Bose USB Link is not displayed, click the highlighted icon to open up the Device settings menu.

3. Select Bose USB Link for Speaker and Microphone.
