ControlCenter CC-1 interface

Procedure

1 Network cable standard

One end of the network cable must be terminated with an RJ-45 connector. The wiring configuration is made according to the TIA/EIA 568B standard. This wiring is shown in the figure below. The other end of the cable should be bare wire.

2 DXA 2120 REMOTE location and function definition

Locate the REMOTE connection on the back of the DXA 2120 (number 8)

The definition of the interface is shown in the following figure:

3 Zone Controller Interface

There are two RJ-45 connections on the back of the CC-1 controller: Main and Chain.

4 Connecting up to two ControlCenter CC-1s independently (home run method)

In this configuration, each zone controller has its own wire run back to the amplifier directly.

4.1 DIP settings for independently wired zone controllers

Set up as shown below with the DIP switch settings for both zone controllers #1 and #2.  Both controllers will have the same DIP switch settings.

4.2 Wiring

Both controllers use the same wire colors of the network cable.

Connecting CC-1 #1

  • Connect the RJ-45 connector to Main on the controller.
  • Wire network cable pin 1 (white/orange) to the REMOTE connector pin 1: VOL_1.
  • Wire cable pin 3 (white/green) to REMOTE pin 2: PWR.

Connecting CC-1 #2

  • Connect the RJ-45 connector to Main on the controller.
  • Wire network cable pin 1 (white/orange) to the REMOTE connector pin 3: VOL_2.
  • Wire cable pin 3 (white/green) to REMOTE pin 2: PWR.

5 Daisy chain cascade

5.1 Daisy Chain Order

Two controllers can be connected in sequence to form a daisy chain.

Network cable daisy chain setup:

CC-1 #1: Connect the Main RJ-45 connection to Chain on CC-1 #2.

CC-1 #2: The Main connection will be wired to the REMOTE terminal block on the back of the DXA 2120 (described in section 5.3 of this article, below).

5.2 DIP is set as shown below

5.3 The connection sequence of the network cables

Wire network cable pin 1 (white/orange) to REMOTE connector pin 1: VOL_1.

Wire cable pin 2 (orange) to the REMOTE pin 3: VOL_2.

Wire cable pin 3 (white/green) to REMOTE pin 2: PWR.

6 Amplifier Mode settings

6.1 Independent control of two panels, Mixer Mode

Please follow the menu tree below to make settings.

The Zone Controller 1/2 corresponds to the Control Output 1/2.   When the Zone Controller is connected, the Output Gain knob on the amplifier will be inactive.

Zone Controller Connection: Please refer to Step 4 or Step 5 of this article (above) depending on whether it is a stand-alone or daisy-chain connection.

6.2 Single panel control, Mixer Mode

Please follow the menu tree in Step 6.1 (above).

If you want to use one zone controller to control two output zones at the same time, please set the menu tree as shown in the figure below, and change Master Vol Set-up-->Linked N to Y.

Note: In Linked Y state, both outputs will be controlled by zone controller # 1 at the same time.

Zone Controller Connection: Please refer to Step 4 (above).

6.3 Single panel control, Stereo Mode

Please follow the menu tree below.

Zone Controller Connection: Please refer to Step 4 (above).

6.4 Dual panel controls, DualMono Mode

Please follow the menu tree below.

Zone Controller Connection: Please refer to Step 4 or Step 5 of this article (above) depending on whether it is a standalone or daisy chain connection.
