This document provides instructions on resolving intermittent audio issues encountered when using a gated automatic microphone mixer with the ControlSpace EX-1280C.

Symptom

When a person has been speaking for a long period of time the speaker's microphone may appear to be switched off. When this happens, all other microphones also appear to be cut off until the speaker stops talking and waits a moment.

    Resolution

Upgrade to ControlSpace Designer 5.2 or later.

    Why did this happen?

During prolonged speech, the automatic threshold may increase above the speaker's volume level and turn off their microphone.

ControlSpace Designer version 5.1.1 and earlier has a bug that may cause audio interruptions when any of the following conditions are met.

    1. The threshold parameter (Thresh) of multiple microphones is set to Auto (Auto is the default value).

    2. The Designated Mic ON parameter is set to None (None is the default value).

    3. A reverberant room with low isolation between microphones.
