This article describes how to configure IP settings for Dante-enabled devices.
By default, Dante devices use DHCP. When there is no DHCP server on the network, the device will use a link-local address (169.254.x.x).

Procedure
1. Download and install Dante Controller
Audinate's Dante Controller software can be used to configure Dante devices. The software can be downloaded from https://www.audinate.com/products/software/dante-controller
2. Connect to the Dante device on the network
In this procedure, we will assume there is no DHCP server on the network. When there is no DHCP server, your computer and the Dante device will use a 169.254.x.x address (if they have not already been set to a static address).
If the Dante device has two network ports, please use the Primary port to connect to the network.
The following screenshots use a ControlSpace EX-4ML as an example.
2.1. First, confirm that the computer's network card is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
2.2. Open Dante Controller and find the Dante device on the Device Info tab.
2.3. Double-click the EX-4ML line to display the Device View window. Go to the Network Config tab.
3. Modify the DHCP address to a static IP address
3.1. In the Network Config tab, enter the static IP address that you wish to use and then click Apply.
3.2. After applying the changes, the following prompt will appear. Click Yes.
3.3. The device will not automatically reboot. End points and wall plates can be rebooted by clicking Reboot on the Network Config tab. For processors and amplifiers, such as the ControlSpace EX-1280C and the PowerMatch line, perform a power cycle.
3.4. After the device is reset, go back to Dante Controller to confirm that the Dante IP address of the EX-4ML has been modified successfully.
Note: The name of EX-4ML is displayed in red because the device is no longer in the same range as the computer. That's ok, and we'll address this in a moment.
Troubleshooting side note: If you're troubleshooting a system and a device name is in red, you can double click on the device to display the following information:
3.5. To put the computer back on the same network as the EX-4ML, open up the IPv4 properties window and enter in a static IP.
Dante Controller will now show the device name in black.
